This is a 6 week class pack focused on giving you a good understanding of working with clay using your hands and tools.

The class will be divided into different sessions focusing on a combination of techniques that you can use independently or in combination. The first two sessions will be focused on finishing a product using coiling and pinching which are great tools to create different forms with as well as getting to know the material and its capabilities. The following two sessions will be focused on slab-building which is another hand-building techniques that involves rolling out sheets of clay and assembling them together to create a form. This technique will help you understand the life stages of clay and the importance of time and dryness in the process. The final two classes will be focused on finishing the previous work with textures, colour application and glaze.
